Works of sculptor Vardkes Avakian in the architectural form of the South Ural State University

The study of the history of art in the region by experts in the field of art becomes an important problem in understanding the development of contemporary art trends. The article is dedicated to the work of the Ural sculptor of the national artist of the Russian Federation Vardkes Aikovich Avakyan. The periods of the master’s creativity are studied in connection with the development of his artistic images. Monumental, monumental, decorative and easel works of the artist located in the historical and cultural space of the South Ural State University, as well as on the territory of the University Academic Town are considered. The author of the article undertakes a theoretical substantiation of the idea of preserving the relationship between the social and cultural education of youth and artistic traditions. Particular attention is paid to easel sculpture and the architecture of the university building as objects of integration of the cultural heritage of the South Urals. This process greatly facilitates the task of educating a creative person who sees the future, knows how to work and achieve results. The campus features a unique collection of easel and monumental sculpture art. The article also highlights the features and reveals the relationship between the development of the field of culture and art at the university and the optimization of the educational process through creative cooperation of the university with leading institutions, organizations and prominent figures of art and culture. This idea is most vividly embodied in the design of the exterior and interior of the building of the main building of the university.
