The article reviews the verbs derivatives of Buryat words in the Russian Old Believers’ speech which are evidences of their longtime language contact with the Buryats. The process of verbs formation in the Russian Old Believers’ speech originated either from Buryat nouns which are derived directly from Buryat language or from Buryat verbs and other parts of speech. The source of the language material is the “Dictionary of the Transbaikalian Old Believers (The Semeiskie) subdialects” (1999). The derived verbs are divided into two groups: 1) verbs denoting actions as a result of thought processes; 2) verbs denoting human and animals’ activity. Semantic fields of the derivative Russian verb and the original Buryat word show their semantic relation and word forming potential in both languages.
