Industrial use of jersey cows on the territory of the Russian Federation

This article provides an analytical review of the industrial use of the Jersey breed in the Russian Federation. The topic of reproduction of farm animals is very relevant. It is directly related to productivity. To achieve maximum productivity, it is necessary to constantly maintain a high level of herd reproduction, ensure timely fruitful insemination of cows to obtain offspring annually. The average age of fruitful insemination of Jersey heifers in 2023 in all categories of farms was 14.3 months, the average age of the first calving was 23.3 months. In 2023, the yield of calves from 100 cows in all categories of farms was 14% higher than the 2019 figure and amounted to 80%.
