This paper presents general information about tick-borne encephalitis prophylaxis vaccine production in "Virion" over the last fifty years. In Tomsk region tick-borne encephalitis is endemic. In the course of time types of produced vaccines changed, but each one contributed to the decrease in the number of tick-borne encephalitis cases. Besides, even if the vaccinated people still developed the disease, it had a mild form and was not followed by any serious complications. In 2001 "Virion" started producing a new type of vaccine called EnceVirTM. The vaccine meets all modern requirements. Both clinical trials and practical use of the vaccine have proved its high efficacy. Since 2001 more than 17 million doses of EnceVirTM have been produced. The "Virion" scientists continue examining the vaccine properties in its practical use and improving its production form.
