The article deals with psychological and age specificities of junior schoolchildren and typology of their manifestations at the lessons of Fine Arts. The effective forms and methods of teaching Fine Arts in primary school are described. The article is innovative and based on various scientific psychological and pedagogical concepts. Understanding of psychological and age specificities of junior schoolchildren and taking them into consideration in educational process will allow teacher to overcome the objective difficulties in teaching Fine Arts. Along with the materials of psychological and pedagogical research the article presents our own experience of teaching Fine Arts to junior schoolchildren, reflects methodological and organizational aspects and content of the innovative program. Special attention is given to use of regional cultural component in educational process of primary school in the form of work with Buryat artists’ masterpieces.
