Manifestations of multistability and multimodiness in the dynamics of real populations

This article investigates multistable regimes in the population dynamics model for limited populations with short life cycles and density-dependent regulation. The authors study external factors influence on a change in the dynamic modes. Special attention is paid to verification of the model on the bank vole number real data. (Myodes glareolus, Schreber, 1780). It is shown that the observable real dynamics can be described as transient series to the cycles of different periods. At this, the dynamic modes change is caused by transformations of attraction basins and moving about the parametric space, due to the external factors influence.
