Manifestation of social motives in convoy officers of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia

The officers who perform the tasks related to convicts’ convoy not infrequently feel fear of rejection, which proves their inner discomfort and tension. Therefore, many intentions and completion of their own demands in communication with other people are blocked. The motive of avoiding failure prevails, and the officers set easy achievable goals. The officers who do not interact with the prisoners have the motive of striving for acceptance as the dominant one, they seek for success and good emotionally positive relations, they are logical and persistent, not afraid of competition, and after achieving the goal set more challenging ones. The officers performing different professional tasks revealed significant changes in the expression of social motives, which determines development and efficiency of the programme of adaptation and prevention of burnout and professional deformation.
