This article offers an in-depth examination of the functional scope of the Prosecutor's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic, with a concentrated analysis on its constitutional foundations and legal status within the framework of the Kyrgyz Constitution. The author meticulously explores the principal functions and responsibilities of the prosecutor’s office, highlighting its crucial role in safeguarding the constitutional rights and freedoms of both citizens and individuals. The comparative analysis between the prosecutor’s offices of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic is a pivotal element of the study, elucidating both shared characteristics and distinct differences in the law enforcement practices of these institutions. The article places significant emphasis on the prosecutor's supervisory role in monitoring the observance of citizens' rights and freedoms, underscoring its essential contribution to the upholding of constitutional norms. The authors assert the critical impact of this function on ensuring the protection of constitutional rights and emphasizes the necessity for continued vigilance and oversight in this domain. As a strategic enhancement to the operational efficiency of the Prosecutor's Office, the article proposes legislative amendments in the Kyrgyz Republic. Specifically, it advocates for the establishment of a distinct and autonomous supervisory function dedicated to the protection of human and civil rights and freedoms.
