The prosecutor and the head of the investigative body: correlation of procedural powers

On the basis of the analysis of legislation, law enforcement practice and the study of the views of public prosecution officers, the article considers correlation of procedural powers of a prosecutor and a head of the investigative body. The lack of legal regulation of prosecutor’s powers is emphasized. The author has formulated some proposals aimed at ensuring the legality of criminal procedure.
