Promemoria as a document type in records management of the Don Host: a system of genre parameters

One of the urgent problems of modern linguistics is to create a text corpus, in particular, a corpus of historical regional documents, which will provide great opportunities for studying the regularities of the formation and functioning of document systems, properties of the document text, and peculiarities of their speech organization. The solution for this problem requires elaboration of parameters, that is, features of the text that characterize it as a specific unit, allowing to provide a scientific assessment of the text, to identify its genre affiliation. The problem of determining a historical document’s genre is of particular significance, since many documents do not have a self-designation and often differ in regional specifics. The paper proposes an integral approach to identifying the genre of a historical document based on a set of parameters - “title of the document”, “addresser”, “addressee”, “date of the document creation”, “place of the document creation” and shows a possibility of its application to the document text based on the historic regional document - promemoria, which was included in the document collection of the XVIII century in the document registry office of the Don Host “Mikhailovsky Stanitsa Ataman”. The set of parameters considered, their characteristics and features of speech manifestation allowed us to define promemoria as a document genre that performs a notification function, and to identify the role of this document in the record-keeping of the Don Host. We show that parameterization of the document text can be used as a linguistic technology for its analysis, and the description of speech manifestation of parameters in the form of speech patterns can be used as verbal markers necessary and sufficient for automatic meta-tagging of the document type.
