Бесплатный доступ

The article offers a comprehensive analysis of the transformation of the hunting costume used by Yakut hunters in the extreme climatic conditions of Yakutia. Drawing on ethnographic sources, archival materials, and field research, the authors trace the evolution of hunting gear from traditional outfits to modern hybrid forms. The study reveals significant regional differences: in Central Yakutia, there is a dominant trend of replacing natural materials with modern functional equipment, whereas in the northern regions, the use of fur ensembles for long-distance travel persists. Particular attention is paid to the phenomenon of hybridization, where traditional elements are organically combined with high-tech materials. The key factors determining hunters’ choices are the availability of materials, economic feasibility, the transformation of hunting practices, and the use of high-tech vehicles.
