The capital letter in the conflict of norm and speech practice

The article is devoted to the debatable problems of using capital letters in contexts not related to language games. The attention of the authors is focused on the modes of writing, which contradict the basic norms of the theory of writing, according to which the capital letters are the ones that the proper names start with, while the lowercase is used for common names. The study is based on the materials of the modern Russian language.
