The article is devoted to commemorative features characterizing of the Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Omsk and Barnaul residents mass farewell with V. Lenin, who died in 1924, and Lenin’s memorial days (1925–1941). The author reveals the origins of the farewell ritual and commemorative celebrations, and explains the ideological significance of these events.
