Factor is middle-early maturing highly productive simple interline sunflower hybrid of the middle intensive type, developed by a method of interline hybridization combine with access by a complex of economically valuable traits. It is resistant to main races of broomrape (A-E) and a complex of Downy Mildew races, highly tolerant to Phomopsis. The vegetative period is 110-114 days. Plant height is 180-195 cm. a potential yield of the hybrid Factor is 4.00-4.30 t per ha in commercial production. Oil content in seeds is 47-50%. The parental forms are: maternal - a new CMS-line VK 101 A with high general combining ability, paternal - a line-restorer of pollen fertility VK 302. Due to data of the competitive trial for 2013-2016, middle seed yield of the hybrid was 3.68 t per ha, that is 0.44 t per ha higher than the standard had (Kubansky 930), oil yield was 0.18 t per ha higher than the standard. And the new hybrid did not exceed the import hybrid Arena PR by both traits. The hybrid Factor possesses wide agroecological adaptability. It significantly exceeded both the local (hybrid Prestige) and foreign standard (NK Brio) on yield in drought conditions of the south of the Rostov region in 2015. The hybrid Factor has the minimal percentage of plants affected by broomrape. In the similar trial in 2016, it also prevailed on seed and oil yield. The seed size in mention years were quite large (1000 seed weight) 75.0-76.6 g) in the conditions of the south of the Rostov region. The features of the hybrid are: high energy of the growing on the first stages of development, high adaptability to cultivation conditions and stress factors, resistance to lodging, high profitability of seed production. The sunflower hybrid Factor is permitted for production from 2017 in the Northern Caucasus, Central Chernozem and Low Volga regions. The originator is All-Russia Research Institute of Oil Crops by Pustovoit V.S. (VNIIMK).
