Space parameter in university discourse (case study of site sliders of Russian and foreign universities)

Nowadays there is a manifestation of increasing international contacts in the education sphere, which requires studying national specifics to overcome cognitive barriers and assist people collaboration. The article studies the organization of space, an integral part of university, in the university discourse of three languages (Russian, English, German) and carries out a comparative analysis to educe universal and culturally-oriented factors. The study case is a slider of five university sites. The integration of cognitive-and-discourse and language-and-culture approaches allows the author to describe cognitive models of space in the university discourse based on national specifics and study anthropocentric aspects of space organization. The data obtained give an opportunity to educe preferred images of space at university and improve conditions of working and studying in the future. “Successful” models can also facilitate increasing the number of students and academics.
