The spatial analysis of distribution of population of the Staropoltavsky District

The peculiarities of spatial distribution of population at the territory of the Staropoltasvky district of the Volgograd region in the context of the relief’s influence on the location of settlements are considered. There is evaluated the influence of the geomorphological conditions on the distribution and the number of population at the studied territory. In the context of the conducted spatial analysis there are revealed the geographical aspects in the development of toponymy of population centers during the settlement and development.
