Education and charity of the exiled Decembrists in the South Ural region

The characteristics of educational activity of the Decembrists, exiled to Kurgan: gratuitous replenishment of district vocational school library with books, magazines and school-books, consultative assistance to the teaching staff, are presented in the article. Charitable help in the form of donations for educational needs is highlighted; pedagogical statements of Decembrist L.A.Briggen from his epistolary heritage are presented.
