Resistance of local gendarmerie units of the political police to official misconducts and crimes in the Russian Empire (1826-1860)

The study analyzes the efforts of local gendarmerie units to combat against official misconducts and crimes. Intoducing new material into scientific use the authors show the inefficiency of such a process which was already implemented by means of disciplinary, administrative and penal methods.
