The article discusses the development of Russian legislation in the field of the institution of bankruptcy. The role of the prosecutor’s office in this area is analyzed. There are typical violations of the laws revealed by prosecutors during supervisory checks. The author comes to the conclusion about the need to improve Russian bankruptcy laws.
