Counteraction to transferring narcotic substances in correctional facilities: issues and prospects

The article considers current issues related to the tarnsferring narcotic substances in correctional facilities. It is emphasized that drug trafficking fosters the creation of criminal networks, destabilizes the environment, and reduces the effectiveness of correction and resocialization processes for inmates. The main methods of transferring prohibited substances are analyzed, including the use of visitors, bribing staff, throwing packages over fences, deploying drones, and sending postal shipments. Such countermeasures as the use of modern video surveillance systems, biometric identification technologies, and regular staff training are discussed. Special attention is given to the necessity of interdepartmental cooperation, combating staff corruption, and implementing medical and psychological assistance programs for inmates. Proposals for improving the regulatory framework, technical equipment, and rehabilitation programs, taking into account international experience are made.
