Countering the promotion of extremism and terrorism on social media

Some aspects of countering the propaganda of extremism and terrorism committed in the field of information technology. The author analyzes the points of view of various authors regarding this problem. The state and dynamics of criminal acts related to information technology, including the promotion of ideas of extremism and terrorism, have been studied. A brief portrait of the criminal's personality is given, some reasons and conditions for the commission of these criminal acts are indicated, and directions for their prevention and prevention are considered. Methods and materials: the legal framework of the study was the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the legislation that regulates the issues of countering extremism and terrorism, as well as scientific works that explore these issues. The methodological basis of the work was left by the general dialectical method of scientific knowledge. In addition, the methods of logical deduction and induction are used. Also in the study were used cognitive methods and techniques of observation, comparison, analysis, generalization and description. The Results of the study: made it possible to consider, analyze the issues of countering the propaganda of extremism and terrorism, committed using information and telecommunication technologies, the prevention and prevention of these negative phenomena. Findings and Conclusions: some aspects of countering the propaganda of extremism and terrorism committed in the field of information technology are considered, and preventive measures are given.
