Anti-tumor activity of composite agent comprising tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and photosensitizer (hematoporphyrin derivative) was studied using experimental tumor models of Krebs-2, Ehrlich’s adenocarcinomas and Lewis’s lung carcinoma. The data obtained showed that the composite agent demonstrated more anti-tumor activity compared to its components with respect to both inhibition of the primary tumor node and the process of tumor cell metastasis. Increase in the level of hematoporphyrin derivate uptake in the tumor tissue after injection of composition allows one to suppose that the observed effect of increase in TNF-α activity is related to the increase in selectivity of hematoporphyrin derivate uptake in the tumor and its modulated action. The complex agent hematoporphyrin derivate - TNF-α has lower toxicity level than TNF- α agent.
