Migration processes, considered in the context of the globalization of the modern world, not only represent the cause of mass social changes, but also contribute to the emergence of serious contradictions between the indigenous population and newcomers. The movement of people from one place of residence to another, especially if this process affects not one person or a single family, but the masses, violates the usual way of life of both the local population and the displaced themselves. The analysis of conflict situations caused by migration allows you to gain knowledge on how to prevent such situations of confrontation. In this paper, the author examines migration processes in society in terms of the factors, causes and conditions leading to their inconsistency and significance to society as a whole and for specific interethnic groups. Migration appears to be one of the causes of social conflicts. To resolve such contradictions, the author considers the consolidation of the efforts of civil society institutions and public authorities at all levels to be important.
