The article deals with an urgent topic related to the breed inventory of Suksun cattle. The author emphasizes that in recent years in the Russian Federation there has been a reduction in the number of livestock in dairy and beef cattle breeding and this trend persists to the present moment. The article analyzes the herd of Suksun cattle depending on the bloodlines of improving breeds. In the end, the author concludes that it is important to preserve the population of Suksun cattle through the creation of seed and ovocyte bank, as well as obtaining bulls-producers from high-blooded mothers.
