Provincial Culture in the Context of Russian Culture

The relevance of the topic is related to the problem of preserving our national identity in the context of the globalization of mass culture. The consolidation of the regions of our multinational country based on a sense of historical unity is a prerequisite for the formation of citizenship and patriotism. Self-consciousness and self-identification of an ethnic group is closely related to its national culture. Provincial culture is an integral part of Russian culture, but it retains all the diversity of its manifestations associated with the existence of local cultures. Object of research: provincial culture as a part of the national socio-cultural space, its role in preserving our national heritage. The main purpose of the study is to examine and substantiate the role of provincial culture in the context of Russian culture. Objectives - to characterize the status of the province as a special cultural landscape that contributes to the preservation of the traditional worldview of the Russian man; to substantiate the importance of provincial culture in the preservation of cultural values of the country and society; to analyze the “center - periphery” dichotomy in our national culture.
