When the grain layer is exposed to Aero-dynamic or mechanical forces, under certain conditions, the contacts between the grains weaken, the layer's porosity increases, and its structure is destroyed. The dense layer becomes loosened, fluidized, and as the external impact increases, it becomes suspended. When the grain layer is loosened, the diffusion and thermal resistances at the phase interface decrease, which provides an intensification of heat and moisture exchange. The fluidized bed got its name due to the formal similarity of some of its properties with the properties of the liquid. If air is passed through the grain layer located on the grid at a certain speed, the layer is first loosened, and then passes into a state resembling a boiling liquid, i.e., a state of fluidization. The article describes the causes of inhomogeneity of fluidization of the grain layer and the conditions for selecting the parameters of gas distribution grids.
