Psycholinguistic and didactic approaches to solution of the problems of adult foreign language learners

The article is devoted to the analysis of typical psychological barriers that adult language learners face, and problems of low-efficiency learners caused by lack of awareness about learning strategies. The article suggests recommendations to language teachers about the ways of creating encouraging atmosphere in the classroom, and gives a review of approaches to the learning strategies (meta-cognitive, cognitive, social/emotive) that enhance efficacy of language acquisition.
