Psychological safety and sovereignty of personality with expressed post-traumatic stress

The article presents the results of the pilot study of sovereignty of personal psychological space, its characteristics and specific ideas of psychological safety among young people (19-25 years old) with expressed post-traumatic stress. The study reveals that high level of post-traumatic stress corresponds to the low level of the personality sovereignty and its particular characteristics such as sovereignty of physical body, sovereignty of territory and sovereignty of personal belongings. The author shows that social support and self-preservation are invariant characteristics of psychological safety, whereas the direction of social support and the idea of the subjects, from whom the help is expected, may vary among people with different levels of post-traumatic stress. The author discusses the issue of home environment as a resource for coping with life difficulties and the specificity of its use by people with high levels of post-traumatic stress.
