Orphans and children with disabilities, without parental care, are specific and not capable without the help and support of the state, social institutions to adapt and socialize in the modern society. One of the effective ways to solve the problem of child abandonment is a substitute family. Various problems, low levels of psychological readiness for raising a child with disabilities in a substitute family environment lead to emotional exhaustion of parents, reduce the resilience, increase the risk of child abandonment. The adoption of a child with special needs in a family requires a comprehensive support by the different experts. The main purpose of psychological services with the category, in our opinion, is to stabilize the mental condition of substitute parents of children with disabilities, and as a result of the optimization is the process of entering their children into the social environment. This paper examines the main directions of psychological support of foster families who adopt children with disabilities. It describes the model of psychological support to adoptive parents, the stages of psychological services and forms of employment, proposed methods of psychological correction and expected results.
