Psychological tolerance of law enforcement officers to destructive informational influence

The article notes that the peculiar role in building officers’ psychological tolerance (informational psychological reliability) to informational influence should be played by the chief officers of all divisions at all levels. The author specifies certain requirements to law enforcement officers’ tolerance to destructive informational influence due to peculiarities of the informational environment wherein they are to perform. The crucial feature of this environment is that every officer can get alternative information about any occurrence, which can significantly handicap interaction with him in resolving educative and managing tasks. Multiple view (network) orientation of informational influence, scaling of the content and use of effective psychotechniques result in building virtual reality of high level of complicity. All that can cause disorientation of behaviour and activity, chaotization of beliefs, destruction of historically developed system of values. Herewith, building and maintenance of law enforcement officers’ psychological tolerance to destructive elements of the modern informational environment is given priority in the system of moral psychological provision of operational service. Functional system methodology enables the author to suggest the situational algorithm of intentional analysis and officers’ response when perceiving and estimating the information dealt with at the moment.
