Psychological methods to enhance athletes’ resilience to stressful competition situations

Modern sport is accompanied by significant psychological pressure: athletes often experience stress and fear of failure, which negatively impacts their performance and motivation. This article analyzes the main stress factors and their influence on athletic achievement. Contemporary psychological techniques are examined, including cognitivebehavioral therapy, relaxation methods, visualization, and mindfulness training. Practical recommendations are provided for integrating these approaches into the training process to reduce anxiety and enhance athletes’ self-confidence, thereby improving both performance and emotional well-being.
