Psychological peculiarities of person's behaviour in the crowd and law enforcement officers' regarding them during mass events

Along with the general tactic rules of public order maintenance during mass events law enforcement officers are to know psychological behavioural peculiarities of people in the crowd, understand specifics of the crowd and its types, apprehend potential threats according to the type of crowd. In domestic and foreign social and psychological studies crowd is classified according to such features as manageability, the origin of formation, ways of psychological functioning. Due to the changing situations which surround mass events originally safe crowds can transfer into aggressively acting or panic types of crowd. In cases when it is necessary to disband potentially dangerous types of crowd to prevent riots law enforcement officers must take into account its size, density and structure, which will ensure the proper strategy of professional actions. The nearest future is likely to witness increasing mass actions, ecological and political rallies in Russia, which makes professional knowledge and skills more relevant for law enforcement officers who will be able to predict and immediately neutralize potential threats caused by the crowds.
