Psychological defenses in pregnant women with preeclampsia as a factor in adaptation dysfunction

The pathology of pregnancy makes a significant contribution to the mental state of patients and, forming a vicious circle, enhances the problems of the mental sphere, causing a worsening of obstetric pathology and vice versa. Objective of this study was to study the characteristics of psychological defenses in pregnant women with preeclampsia. Materials and Methods. The main group consisted of 101 pregnant women with a diagnosis of moderate preeclampsia, the average age of which was 26.75±2.5 years. The comparison group included 40 pregnant women, conditionally healthy, without signs of preeclampsia, as well as 40 non-pregnant women, matched in age. The study of psychological defenses was carried out according to the methodology of the Life Style Index (LSI). Results. According to the mental state, women of the main group were distributed as follows. With pre-illness conditions, 14 patients (13.9%) were identified, and all of them had a somatovegetative variant of the psycho-maladaptive syndrome...
