Psychological support for parents with emotional burnout syndrome

This article focuses on systematization and updating of theoretical foundations on the topic of parental emotional burnout as a sociocultural phenomenon in the modern world. The phenomenon of «delayed parenting» is described, an analysis of studies conducted on this issue, its causes and consequences are presented and comparative analysis of current research on this issue is described. It reveals correlational relationships between indicators of emotional burnout and levels of satisfaction in partner relationships and parent-child relationships, as well as potential risks of developing depressive disorders, which may have long-term consequences on a child’s personality development. The article outlines the necessary conditions for preventing emotional problems for parents of preschool and early school-aged children when developing emotional burnout syndrome. The concluding section presents possible preventive measures aimed at strengthening the parent-child relationship dyad, and describes the approaches used by psychologist when working with parents and children. Further research into the connection between emotional burnout and its impact on the development of specific personality traits in children will help identify additional risk factors. This would contribute to expanding the methodology for providing professional assistance in the psychological support of adults and children.
