The article reveals the psychological approach to the issue of service and analyses the features that define it: sacrifice, emotional experience, wisdom, unconditionality, timeless, and spontaneity. The phenomenon of service is presented by authorʼs structural dynamic model. Service is considered as a status and as an activity. The psycholinguistic analysis of military, religious, and acting services is accomplished. The category of “ the interference of motivational fields ” is introduced. The category of “the genuine motivation ” is comprehensively disclosed. The definition of service is determined.
