The article is devoted to the problem of prevention of emotional burnout in future representatives of socionomic professions, which is expressed in the presence of such a factor of professional competence as the formation of psychological and pedagogical readiness for self-help. Mastering self-help skills is considered on the example of 2 groups: students - future teachers and future specialists in social work. The authors characterize various models of mastering self-help skills in connection with the specifics of future professional activity, disclosed the principles, functions, forms of this work.
