The article substantiates the relevance of the development of critical thinking of a future competitive specialist, considers the history of this issue in domestic and foreign philosophical and psychological-pedagogical literature. Based on the analysis, the article presents the author's definition of the concept of “critical thinking”, formulated on the basis of the specifics of its consideration in the context of professional training of a future specialist. The article discusses the psychological and pedagogical conditions that contribute to the development of critical thinking of the future teacher.
