Psychological and pedagogical aspects of father’s role during children upbringing in the family

In our opinion modern stereotype on mother's leading role in children education and upbringing in the family is deeply erroneous. Psychological and pedagogical aspects of father's role in the children upbringing are of the same importance. Besides they are complementary and harmonious. The article examines the approaches of different authors on father's role in the family, especially when a girl is brought up. Relationships between a father and a daughter help to develop the ideas about masculinity and femininity, society, and sex-role behavior. Father contributes to sex-role identification, internal self-consciousness and maintenance of favorable emotional-psychological climate in the family.
