The article considers the problem of physical education from the point of view of psychological and pedagogical aspects among school students at the present stage of development. In the modern world, the problem of sports takes the first place in the learning process. Schoolchildren are looking for various reasons not to attend sports lessons. Because of this, an unfavorable situation may develop in summing up the results of the evaluation semester. In order to attract the younger generation to physical activity, the benefits of physical culture were shown not only for physical development, but, first of all, for the psychological state of a person. The problematic aspects of physical education and their tasks are considered. The impact of sports on the lives of younger schoolchildren was assessed. Recommendations for the implementation of productive sports activities of schoolchildren in physical education classes and during extracurricular time are presented.
