This article examines the specifics of the implementation of an interdisciplinary language research project at a technical university. The skills and abilities formed during the implementation of an interdisciplinary language research project are described. Special attention is paid to speaking as a type of speech activity. The reproductive and productive types of speech activity are considered in relation to the public defense of an interdisciplinary language research project. The skills formed by students during the public defense of an interdisciplinary language research project are analyzed.
