Functional and stylistic originality of the English newspaper text

This article is devoted to the analysis of the functional and stylistic originality of the newspaper text in English. The specificity of the newspaper text is expressed in its peculiar expressivity, lapidarity of description, the existence of a political and public vocabulary, newspaper stamps, stylistic diversity and synthesis of the style of journalism. The priority for the style of newspapers is the process of influencing the reader, which acts as a link with the expressive characteristics of this style of speech. The expressiveness of the newspaper style can be found in the interpretation of the assessment of events or phenomena of public life. The classification of functional styles is based on the following functions of language: communication functions, message functions, impact functions.
