Travelling of V. L.Dedlov (Kign) as a self-identification experience

The article is devoted to the travel essays “Adventures and Impressions in Italy and Egypt. Notes about Turkey” of V.L. Dedlov (Kign). V.L. Dedlov belongs to the second row writers. However, the analysis of travel essays is useful for the development of ideas about the genre of travel essay, the concepts of national identity and traveler’s ways of assimilation. The peculiar manner of perception of alien space and the categories of “own - alien” in the travelogue launch the mechanism of self-identification.
