Formation of cultural knowledge in the system of national university education

The article analyses the formation of cultorology as an individual study and the special field of higher professional education which aims at the formation of main characteristics of personal culture. The article studies the fundamental concept "culture" as basis of understanding the specificity of cultorology education. Culturology began to develop as a research area in XX century thanks to the American culture-anthropologist Leslie White. National cultural education became widespread in the Soviet period. In the 1960—1980-ies, this field has developed widely in the educational system of the state. At the end of the XXth century national educational system attempted to intergrate cultorology into educational process.
