Roman Andreevich Rudenko is a lawyer, a statesman, a real state counselor of justice, Hero of Socialist Labor. Most historians and lawyers know him first of all as the main accuser from the USSR at the Nurenberg Trials. But other details of his biography cause controversy and questions. On the one hand, R. A. Rudenko is known as one of the participants in the Stalinist repressions, on the other hand, as a prominent figure in the Thaw era, who achieved the rehabilitation of many honest people. Rudenko's outstanding personal qualities contributed to his career growth: high efficiency, thoughtfulness, adherence to principles, and the ability to defend his point of view. But not only they mattered. Others liked his modesty, goodwill, ability to win over, create a warm atmosphere in the team. So how to evaluate his personality and its role in the history of our country?
