Working about the comic genre in the operative studio (on the example of the opera by DK Menotti "Phone, or three love")

The article discusses the acting and singing components of the comic role in the opera The Telephone (1947) by the American composer D-K Menotti. It presents the process of working on the main party from the standpoint of identifying the genre specificity of Menotti's work (adaptation of many models of comic opera), searching for original actor's decisions (taking into account the experience of related characters and images in theatrical and cinema art, vocal music) and analyzing individual characteristics hero (many emotional gradations that require subtle transmission). The article may be useful to teachers of the discipline "Musical Theater", students of vocal faculties, singing artists.
