The cooperation between mentors and the youth at industrial enterprises of the South Urals in 1965-1975

The study discussed the economic development of the South Urals, covering the Kurgan, Orenburg and Chelyabinsk regions, in 1965-1975. The region developed dynamically, the number of industrial enterprises increased. Training the highly qualified young professionals was an acute task. The research reviewed the modalities of assisting entrants to master a profession by the Komsomol Committees. The paper demonstrated the role of the system of vocational education when training the fledgling experts. However, based on the evidence, mentoring was recognized as one of the most effective techniques for raising young workers at enterprises. The author considered the basic organizational modalities of mentoring; the selection of effective mentors as the personality of a mentor played a crucial role in the educational process; training mentors and providing the methodological and theoretical assistance to them; the results of the 8th and 9th five-year plans in the South Urals.
