Work of the Department “On Teaching the Law of God” at the Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in 1917–1918

The article is devoted to the work of the Department “On Teaching the Law of God” at the Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in 1917–1918, which was to develop a plan for reforming the school subject Law of God. Members of the Department tried to resolve a wide range of topical issues, to respond to a huge number of letters and appeals, which showed the spiritual experience of the faithful people in connection with the place that the subject of the Law of God will occupy in the school system in the near future. The article provides General information about the activities of this Department: the number of members and the number of meetings during 1917–1918, as well as the main decisions taken and issues considered.
