The diet of the common grass snake Natrix natrix (Colubridae) in the Middle Volga region

The data on the nutrition of the common grass snake in the Middle Volga region are presented. The diet includes at least 16 species of lower vertebrates comprising 9 amphibians and 6 fishes. The consumption of edible frog by the common grass snake has been confirmed. An increase in the diet of the common snake of alien vertebrate species was noted.
