Assessing the reproductive function in the Chernobyl emergency workers 13-14 years after the radiation disaster

A total of 50 Chernobyl emergency workers, males of reproductive age, and 48 persons of the control group were subjects of the adrological study undertaken in the MRRC regional center engaged in rehabilitation of individuals affected by the Chernobyl accident. The retrospective examination of the emergency workers 13-14 years after the accident shows that a decline in key spermogram indicators was related to their general health status and inflammatory processes in the genitourinary system, in particular diseases of male reproductive organs.
