Radiofrequency ablation is a minimally invasive technique that is used to treat various types of tumors. In a retrospective analysis included the results of treatment of 55 patients with autonomously functional thyroid nodules received treatment in June and December 2014. Volume reduction was measured by US imaging. The reduction of nodule volume after radiofrequency ablation were in the range of 33-58% at one month and 51-85% after six months. These data indicated that radiofrequency ablation were effective and safe non-surgical methods for treatment of benign thyroid nodules.
